What is R2FS!?

R2FS! (Remote-Reverse File System) is a storage management software by Syncplify designed to extend Syncplify Server! capabilities with remote-reverse storage support.

Key Benefits

R2FS! allows you to keep your storage infrastructure in an isolated subnet behind a completely closed inbound firewall. This means:

• No inbound NAT required - your storage remains completely isolated from external access
• No port-forwarding needed - eliminates common security vulnerabilities
• Enhanced security posture - your storage network accepts no inbound connections

How It Works

R2FS! reverses the traditional client-server model:

1. R2FS! connects outbound to the SFTP server (Syncplify Server!)
2. Role reversal occurs - R2FS! then acts as a traditional storage server
3. Storage remains isolated - all communication happens through the outbound connection

This architecture ensures your storage remains in a secure, isolated network without requiring any inbound firewall rules.
